First, Lucia (Christina's mom) came in to share with us her experiences in Japan. We tasted "banana juice," learned about tea ceremonies, customs, Japanese architecture, and saw some amazing pictures! Thank you so much, Lucia!
Then, this afternoon we met the author of The Princess Doctor, Margaret Smigiel! She shared how her book was illustrated and what the writing process was like. Girls made some wonderful observations and had the opportunity to ask questions. "What are your hopes and dreams?" she asked our girls. We heard answers like explorer, scientist, doctor, athlete in the olympics, astronaut, vet, artist, violinist, biographer, poet, professional horseback rider, teacher, and even an inventor! Mrs. Smigiel talked to the girls about following your dreams but keeping a good heart and being kind to others.
