A Message from our Communications and Marketing Department

Please know that Springside Chestnut Hill Academy places tremendous value in our communication between home and school. The primary method of sharing information with parents about important events and programs is our weekly Virtual Mailbag (VMB). Please be sure to refer to this electronic newsletter, sent on Friday afternoons, for all-school information (found on the landing page) as well as information specific to your daughter's grade level and slideshows of school life (found on the Lower School page).

Final Japanese Reports

We have completed our Japanese final reports and presentations.  Girls chose different formats to showcase their research and knowledge.  Some chose poster boards and some used online resources.  Gabrielle built a Japanese house to compliment her study of architecture.  Ellie and Anne-Marie made a book about festivals and celebrations in Japan.  Olivia chose a folktale and presented it in a Reader's Theatre format, casting, directing, and even gathering appropriate props for the performance.  Everyone enjoyed their work.

In addition to the self-directed Japanese research project, teams of girls worked in Book Groups last week and shared Japanese stories with us through puppet shows and plays.  The girls did all the work themselves: choosing the stories, deciding on characters, lines, sound effects, and creating the setting.  These performances were quite wonderful and very impressive to watch!  Look for pictures of them on DVDS's which will be coming home today.

Enjoy the slideshow!  And have a wonderful summer!
