Please know that Springside Chestnut Hill Academy places tremendous value in our communication between home and school. The primary method of sharing information with parents about important events and programs is our weekly Virtual Mailbag (VMB). Please be sure to refer to this electronic newsletter, sent on Friday afternoons, for all-school information (found on the landing page) as well as information specific to your daughter's grade level and slideshows of school life (found on the Lower School page).

Literature Circles

Once a cycle (every 7 days) our three 2nd grade classes can get together! We are able to mix up the girls into different groups according to interest and/or ability. We use this time for focusing on literacy and today we began our first "Literature Circle." Girls will meet as a book group and each will chose a different specific job. The girls read the same text then have a lively discussion focused on what they have just read. The girls I met with today were very excited about this opportunity and will continue their work on our next Day 1.
