A Message from our Communications and Marketing Department

Please know that Springside Chestnut Hill Academy places tremendous value in our communication between home and school. The primary method of sharing information with parents about important events and programs is our weekly Virtual Mailbag (VMB). Please be sure to refer to this electronic newsletter, sent on Friday afternoons, for all-school information (found on the landing page) as well as information specific to your daughter's grade level and slideshows of school life (found on the Lower School page).

Big Day Yesterday! The girls learned about Mural Painting and held a real Olympic Torch!

Yesterday was very special!
First, we had a wonderful opportunity to help paint a mural along side the mural artist Ann Northrup!

Ann Northrup, a Mural Artist, visited SCH, Cherokee Campus, this week.  She is going to begin work on a new mural on the the wall of Bredenbeck Bakery, located in Chestnut Hill on Germantown Ave.   This is the first mural in this end of the city.  The mural will be painted on the east-facing blank wall of the building, and will feature the work of artist Ann Northrup. Northrup will cover the entire three-story wall with a depiction of the Wissihickon, including native plants and a sweeping sycamore tree.  http://chestnuthilllocal.com/blog/2012/02/24/bredenbecks-bakery-to-get-mural/

Later in the day, during P.E., Taylor's dad (Michael) came in and he did a presentation on his experiences as an Olympic Rower for the USA.  He even brought in some wonderful things to share and the girls were able to hold an actual Olympic Torch!  Thanks so much, Michael.  I think you've inspired some future athletes!
