Science with Mrs. Maloy

Rai - We found out that in our mystery packets there was an owl pellet.
Leila - We made lots of predictions first about the mystery packet.
Corinne - We learned that we are going to dissect the owl pellet.  That means we're going to take it apart and observe what it is and put the bones together.
Alice - At the end of the observation page we had to make a prediction.  I thought it was dirt.
Claire - In the pellet there were some feathers and a bone.
Sammy - There were a lot of clues that helped me to figure it out.
Lila - I learned that the owl pellet was coughed up by the owl.  People go around and find them in the woods and send them to science teachers.
Hallie - In science class we learned that owl pellets are squishy and stink.
Birdie - We had to make observations first after we opened the mystery packets.
Izzy - It smelled really bad because it was from an animal's fur.
Taylor - Owls eat mice and rats.  They also eat birds.
Elena - I learned that when owls eat stuff they can't digest the fur and bones.
