Throughout the year we will be using Spelling City on-line to help us practice our second grade list of spelling words. Occasionally, I will quiz the girls to see how they are doing. This is great practice for increasing their ever-growing list of high-frequency sight words.
The first few lists I call "no excuse" words. These are words that the girls should know at this point how to both read and write. Please help them review these words at home. Girls can also go to the website and practice using these words. We will also practice how to use this site in-school. There are many great learning activities and games. These educational games build spelling and vocabulary skills. You can play them with your own lists or find other people's lists to use. Click on the game's name or icon to play it online.
Here is the link to use. It is also located to the right on this blog for easy access. We just started with List 1. Sometimes I will also send home supporting spelling homework. Let me know if you have any questions.

A Message from our Communications and Marketing Department
Please know that Springside Chestnut Hill Academy places tremendous value in our communication between home and school. The primary method of sharing information with parents about important events and programs is our weekly Virtual Mailbag (VMB). Please be sure to refer to this electronic newsletter, sent on Friday afternoons, for all-school information (found on the landing page) as well as information specific to your daughter's grade level and slideshows of school life (found on the Lower School page).
